Our Art Docent program is designed to enrich students' artistic education by engaging them in hands-on art activities and learning experiences, led by volunteers or parent docents.

The Art Docent program aims include:

Art Education: To introduce students to various art forms, techniques, and artists, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of art.

Creative Expression: To provide opportunities for students to express themselves creatively through different mediums.

Integration with Curriculum: To align art activities with broader educational goals in subjects like history, science, and language arts.

Art Docents will be provided with lessons to teach various art styles, techniques, and materials, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media. These lessons focus on engaging young students through interactive and hands-on approaches, using age-appropriate language and methods.Additionally, Docents receive guidance on how to manage group dynamics and encourage participation in a supportive environment.

Docent-led lessons can be scheduled quarterly or monthly, depending on the teacher’s needs and Docent’s availability. Each session typically includes a brief introduction to a specific art concept or artist, followed by a hands-on project.

All materials, supplies and lesson plans will be provided by the Art Docent Program and will make this lesson a breeze.
